Mass Effect 3 is here!

If anyone out there is buying this game, and you are still using Windows XP, you will most likely run into a very annoying problem in the form of a 'physics engine failed to initialize' error when you try to start the game. After spending many hours researching the net and not finding any useful information, I finally stumbled on a nice easy fix for this problem. Just copy the physxloader.dll file from where the PhysX installer puts it, and paste it in your Mass Effect 3\binaries\Win32 folder. Problem solved! Now why couldn't BioWare figure that out???

Something Different!

Just thought I would give you few who visit here a small sample of the sort of thing I do when not doing research on the net or playing computer games. Enjoy!

Some Relief At Last

Well, the Lyrica has proven beneficial in controlling the day in and day out all over muscular pain that I have been cursed with for some time now. It does make me feel a little like a limp rag, but since I only take it at bedtime, who cares? Now if I could just find something to stop the extreme low back pain!

Is Anybody Out There?

I see that I have one new member, but no new replies. Am I really that boring?

Adjustments

Well, the dose on the Lyrica was far too high. For about 12 hours I felt positively drunk..........lack of coordination, couldn't keep my eyes open, and couldn't concentrate. However, after sleeping very hard that night, I awoke the next day with virtually no pain. This effect lasted well into the afternoon. The end may just be in sight for this all day every day activity crippling pain.

New Hope

Today my doctor gave me a prescription for Lyrica. I do have a little trepidation about taking it because of the possibility of unpleasant side effects, but if it works it will give me a new lease on life. Because of my problems getting around, my property looks like the grapes of wrath, and I can't afford to hire anyone to keep it up for me. If my disability comes through, maybe that will change. The man I spoke to about my application didn't seem to think there would be any problem, but I can't help but think he was just trying to reassure me. I know how this process works. However, I live in hope.

Further Complications

My doctor has forbidden me to take take nsaids............for the rest of my life. This sudden sessation of the only consistant relief that I had from my chronic back pain has left me almost bedridden. I am barely able to walk down to the barn and back to feed and water my horse. If I didn't have the shopping cart to lean on, I would not be able to do the weekly shopping. As it is, by the time I am done making the rounds at Wal Mart, I am in agony. This plus the several thousand dollars in hospital bills has forced me to apply for disability/medicaid. I have little hope of actually qualifying, but it is my only alternative. On top of everything else, I have now developed phlebitis in my right leg just below the knee. I have begun to take herbal supplements to help thin my blood so that it won't get any worse, but the chance of my getting a DVT has now skyrocketed. It never rains!

On the upside, I recently rescued a tiny half starved kitten that has totally stolen my heart. She is black and white with a skunk-like white stripe down the center of her back, and small enough to hold in the palm of my hand. She's so cute I can hardly stand it, and she is really lifting my spirits.
